In Re: Discontinuance of 1.2 Miles of Town Highway No. 64 Hartland Road Records, Vol. 5, P. 151 Order The above entitled case came on for hearing before the Selectmen of the Town of Hartland on the 22nd day of October A.D. 1952, pursuant to notice thereof in the following form: “ You are hereby notified that the Selectmen of the Town of Hartland will meet at Damon Hall in the Village of Hartland on the 22nd day of October A.D. 1952, at one o’clock in the afternoon, to examine the premises and to hear all persons interested in the proposed discontinuance of the following described highway:: Being 1.2 of a mile of Town Highway No. 64, as shown on Map No. 2-36, Vermont Highways, districts No. 4, issued in 1949, for the Town of Hartland, being that portion of the said road running from Stanley Craig’s place to the Errol rice place, known as the Sargent Road. The said notice was sent by registered mail October 9, 1952 , to the following named persons: Stanley Craig, Allen Britton, Julian Murphy, Lawrence Lobdell, Errol Rice, Carl H. Lamb, Lee Graham. Return receipts were received from the above persons. At said hearing the following persons appeared. Carl Lamb, Errol Rice, Jack Murphy for Julian Murphy, Mr. and Mrs. Craig , Allen Britton. Upon examination of the premises and hearing of the parties interested, it is hereby found: The 1.2 of a mile of town Highway 64 running from Stanley Craig’s place to the ErrolRrice place, known as the Sargent Road, is wholly within the Town of Hartland; that is has not been made to appear that said highway was originally laid out under the direction of the County Court or the Supreme Court; that there is objection by these persons present at the hearing, as abutting land owners, to the discontinuance of the above described portion of the said road, it appearing that the maintenance of the said highway is convenient and necessary to citizens of the Town of Hartland, or some of them, ‘Wherefore, It is Ordered that the portion of Town Highway No. 64, running from Stanley Craig’s place to the Errol Rice place, known as the Sargent Road be and hereby is continued. This order is effective at the time of its recording in the Office of the Town Clerk of said Town of Hartland. Dated at Hartland, the County of Windsor, this 31st day of December A.D. 1952. Dean H.
